The Royal United Company specializes in setting up driven shoots on personal properties, whether it be clays, birds or both. A property check will be needed to determine if your property is suitable.
What type of property do I need, and how many acres?
Your property needs to have relatively steep terrain, whether it be rolling hills or cliff faces. The total number of acres is determined on the lay of the land.
The price will be determined through how many birds are released on the day, staff and travel costs to your location.
General time line for a driven day
How many shooters can I have?
Depending on the size of your property a maximum of 8 pegs, these pegs can be shared with two shooters on each peg taking it to 16 shooters. The shooters on each peg will take it in turn to shoot, we do NOT allow two people to shoot at the same time due to safety.
An insurance cover note will be supplied.
Release forms will be supplied for the day of the event. A form is required to be clearly filled out and signed by EVERY participant.
We do not, this is the buyers responsibility not all shoot/events need catering keep this in mind.
They will need light loads for the clays if applicable and good heavy shot for the birds i.e. 5 to 6 shot loads.
Driven shoots are designed to follow European tradition not only that it is a lot safer as you can tell the gun is unloaded after each drive.
Most of the time we do not, if work needs doing i.e. tree/brush trimming we will advise the property owner and it’s their responsibility.
Planting cover is not essential as the birds are being released from hill tops, although if it can help the overall experience of the day, we will advise the property owner and it’s their responsibility.
